Tyndale House at ETS and SBL 2022

In November, the Tyndale House Old Testament and New Testament teams will be at the Annual Meetings of the Evangelical Theological Society (ETS) and the Society of Biblical Literature (SBL).

The two meetings are in Denver, Colorado, where hundreds of scholars and students will gather to share and discuss developments in biblical scholarship, religious studies, and theological research.

On the second day of ETS, Wednesday 16 November, Dr George Heath-Whyte (Research Associate) will present a paper on Judean Life and Identity in Neo-Babylonian and Achaemenid Babylonia in the Program Unit Session: Old Testament Backgrounds / Ancient Near East Comparative Studies in the Exilic and Post-Exilic Periods.

Later the same day, Dr Dirk Jongkind (Academic Vice Principal) will present: ‘It does not make a Difference’: The Fraught Relation between NTTC and Systematics in the Program Unit Session: Inerrancy of Scripture, Inerrancy and New Testament Textual Criticism.

On Thursday 17 November, in the Program Unit Session: New Testament Canon, Textual Criticism, & Apocryphal Literature, Dr Nelson S Hsieh (Research Associate in New Testament Text and Language) will be presenting a paper on: A Detailed Comparison of the Paratextual Features of the Tyndale House GNT and Nestle-Aland 28.

At SBL, on Monday 21 November, in the Ugaritic Studies and Northwest Semitic Epigraphy Section, Dr J Caleb Howard (Research Fellow in Old Testament and Ancient Near East) presents Patronymic Designations at Alalaḫ and Ugarit alongside Dr Kaspars Ozolins (formerly Research Associate at Tyndale House and now professor of Old Testament at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary).

American Friends of Tyndale House, Cambridge, will also be at SBL and will be hosting their Annual Scholar's Breakfast sponsored by Crossway Publishers on Saturday 19 November.
