Tuesday 1st - Thursday 10 September 2026
Nairobi, Kenya
The Seminar for Advanced Technical Skills in Biblical Studies equips biblical scholars from around the world to engage deeply with Scripture. Building on our 2025 pilot in Nairobi, the 2026 seminar will again bring together a cohort of scholars for eight days of intensive study, collaboration, and mentorship.
Grounded in the biblical languages and in rigorous, faithful scholarship, this seminar aims to strengthen biblical studies skills and to help scholars serve the Church effectively in their own contexts.
2026 Focus: The Greek New Testament — Manuscripts, Grammar, and Context
The 2026 seminar will continue developing participants’ skills in Greek textual study, with a focus on:
- analysing Greek grammar at an advanced level;
- understanding manuscript evidence and its implications for interpretation;
- exploring how rigorous textual analysis can serve the life and teaching of the Church; and
- studying the Greek translation of the Old Testament as a major source for the language of the New Testament.
Participants will work closely with Dr Dirk Jongkind (Vice Principal (Academic), Tyndale House) and other staff, combining lectures, group work, and individual study time. The seminar will include opportunities for prayer, discussion, and fellowship within a small, residential learning community.
