Associate Professor at Fairfield University
A Christian scholar, T.C. Schmidt received his PhD from Yale University and, in Autumn 2025, will be Associate Professor at Fairfield University and a Visiting Fellow at Princeton University. His publications concern topics such as the historical Jesus, the formation of the New Testament, the history of Christianity in Eastern contexts, and the origin of Christmas. Notably, Professor Schmidt has produced peer-reviewed translations from Latin, Greek, Syriac, and Arabic texts.
He is the author of Josephus and Jesus: New Evidence for the One Called Christ (Oxford University Press).
