The New Testament Study Group will run from Wednesday 23 to Friday 25 June, considering the theme of The Later Pauline Epistles. Though comparatively less studied than their earlier counterparts, the later Pauline epistles offer valuable insights on timeless themes such as citizenship, the family, mission and violence. The full programme of 15 papers reflects the abundant riches yet to be mined from these often-overlooked letters.
Dr Elizabeth Shively will present the New Testament Tyndale Lecture, The Textual Construction of Early Christian Identity in Cognitive Perspective: Philemon as a Test Case. This is one of six plenary talks for the Tyndale Fellowship Conference that are free for anyone to attend. Dr Shively is an outstanding scholar, teacher, and preacher, who has a longstanding commitment to both scholarship and the life of the church.
