Study in the Tyndale House library
Tyndale House is a vibrant research community that extends a warm welcome — whether you are with us for a day, or for the duration of your PhD.
Your desk booking includes an invitation to our regular coffee breaks, when researchers gather in a collaborative atmosphere to network and discuss their work.
Desk Charges
Hot Desk
Hot desks are available from 9am to 5pm Monday – Friday, with the exception of UK Bank Holidays. Due to limited availability, hot desks must be pre-booked by noon the day before arrival.
Maximum of 2 days within any one-week period.
£10 per day
Undergraduates from the University of Cambridge or the Theological Federation
Free (One hot desk day per week only)
Postgraduates from the University of Cambridge or the Theological Federation
Free (A maximum of 5 non-consecutive hot desk days per academic year)
Short Term
Desk is available from 8am to 10pm Monday – Saturday*. New arrivals are asked to arrive within our office opening hours, Monday - Friday between 9am - 5pm, on their first day.
A non-refundable £60 library desk deposit will be required for bookings up to 12 weeks.
A non-refundable £175 library desk deposit will be required for bookings over 12 weeks.

Standard rate:
Up to 4 weeks: £60 p/w
Over 4 weeks: £50 p/w
PhD rate:
Over 4 weeks: £45 p/w
Long Term
Desk is available from 8am to 10pm Monday – Saturday*. New arrivals are asked to arrive within our office opening hours, Monday - Friday between 9am - 5pm, on their first day.
A non-refundable £175 deposit is required to secure booking. If your stay is for a full academic year (1 October – 30 September), an invoice will be issued in September. In order to take advantage of the discounted rate, payment is expected in full for the whole year (or six-month or nine-month period).

PhD Rate:

Tyndale Fellowship Membership Benefits for the 2022/23 Membership year (1 May - 30 April):
Tyndale Fellowship Members are entitled to either:
- free use of a hot-desk for a maximum of 10 non-consecutive days per membership year
or - a 20% discount off an en-suite single room and desk between the months of September to March (inclusive). Cleaning and linens included.
All bookings are subject to availability.
Membership benefits are reviewed annually.
