Journal of the Transactions of the Victoria Institute Digitisation Completed
30th March 2019
A 13-year project to digitise the Transactions of the Victoria Institute has been completed by friend of Tyndale House Rob Bradshaw.
The journal was first published in 1867 and contains a number of historically important articles.
The project has involved Rob gradually uploading articles as they entered the public domain. This effort took a major step forward in 2018 with the contribution of the Tyndale House Library's set of The Transactions.
Last December Rob was given permission by the Committee of the Victoria Institute to digitise and host the entire run. The project is now complete and all 89 volumes containing around 975 articles are now online.
You can download the entire collection as one zipped archive (1.1 GB download). This archive also contains a bespoke search facility for those looking for specific information within the 10.5 million words in the collection.
Rob has also digitised Faith and Thought, the continuation of the Journal of the Transactions of the Victoria Institute from 1867 onwards.
Faith and Thought contains a number of historically important articles on the interaction of science and Christianity. As with the Transactions, the range of subjects covered is quite broad. Significant contributors to the journal include Profs. Leon Morris, Kenneth Kitchen, F F Bruce, David Bebbington and I Howard Marshall.
Thanks to the Victoria Institute for granting its permission to digitise, and Rob's work in digitising the entire back catalogue, this material is online for the first time.
